About This Organization

Exponential is a cause-based, mission-driven non-profit ministry founded in 2006. They are a community of activists who champion the cause of healthy reproducing churches. They are passionate about seeing multiplication become a primary and widely embraced measure of success in the church. We equip church leaders to break free of their deeply rooted paradigms of addition-based church accumulation and growth, opting instead for reproducing and sending cultures.

The percentage of U.S. churches that ever reproduce is low (7%), but momentum is building, and the percentage is increasing (an increase from 4% over the last decade).
The Exponential dream is to see this percentage increase to greater than 16% (the threshold that sociologists consider the tipping point for a new normal). Every 1% increase represents
millions more people spending eternity with God.

They seek to serve Christian leaders and organizations who have the potential to influence and shape the future of disciple-making, mobilization, and church multiplication. Instead of competing with other ministries, They want to see their fruit growing on other people’s trees. Exponential exists to pour fuel on what God is already doing through churches, networks, other organizations, and leaders by saying, “you can do it; how can we help?”

Just as the Chamber of Commerce of a city advocates and champions business without competing with any businesses, Exponential champions healthy reproducing churches and serves those pursuing multiplication. Working with over 800 national influence leaders and serving over 100 networks and denominations, They are helping shift the paradigm of success in the U.S. church—and leading the future conversation about multiplication.

As we’ve narrowed our focus to the mission of seeing the percentage of churches that ever reproduce increase to greater than 16%, God has continued to expand their impact and their opportunities. They partner with strong, like-minded, pioneering churches and networks committed to the church’s future, to mobilizing everyday missionaries into society, and to multiplication.

Position Description

Exponential seeks a mission-driven and experienced leader skilled at leading organizations with excellent operational and managerial skills to support the President (CEO) to empower high-performing staff to accomplish the 16% mission fully. This full-time, permanent position is for immediate hire and reports to a supportive President and professional Board of Directors. Functioning in the chief of staff type role, this leadership position is responsible for executing the vision, implementing a strategic plan, supporting and managing the team, and overseeing all financial aspects to move the mission forward.

They will advance the organization by maintaining a healthy culture, ensuring team alignment, and decisively executing operational imperatives. While working closely with
the organization’s President and executive leadership team, the Vice President will inspire innovation and ensure that the organization is continually well-equipped to advance Exponential’s 16% mission. The organization has a combination of full-time, part-time, and contract team members that live across the U.S., with decentralized
operations. A vital element of this role is collaborative networking across over 100 denominations and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and supervising the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Establish short and long-term goals, objectives, and operational plans with the Board of Directors, President, Executive Leadership Team,
    and other leaders.
  • Apply innovative thinking and performance measurements to analyze and support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations and ensure its overall successful long-term operations.
  • Recruiting new staff members when necessary.
  • Overseeing the ministry’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Assuring all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitoring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Identifying and addressing problems and opportunities for the ministry.
