About This Organization

Exponential is a cause-based, mission-driven non-profit ministry founded in 2006. They are a community of activists who champion the cause of healthy reproducing churches. They are passionate about seeing multiplication become a primary and widely embraced measure of success in the church. We equip church leaders to break free of their deeply rooted paradigms of addition-based church accumulation and growth, opting instead for reproducing and sending cultures.

The percentage of U.S. churches that ever reproduce is low (7%), but momentum is building, and the percentage is increasing (an increase from 4% over the last decade).
The Exponential dream is to see this percentage increase to greater than 16% (the threshold that sociologists consider the tipping point for a new normal). Every 1% increase represents
millions more people are spending eternity with God.

They seek to serve Christian leaders and organizations who have the potential to influence and shape the future of disciple-making, mobilization, and church multiplication. Instead of competing with other ministries, They want to see their fruit growing on other people’s trees. As we’ve narrowed our focus to the mission of seeing the percentage of churches that ever reproduce increase to greater than 16%, God has continued to expand their impact and their opportunities. Position Description

The Communications Director is responsible for the overall development, integration, and implementation of all marketing timelines and content projects supporting the editorial calendar, branding, digital marketing, and traditional marketing for Exponential. Exponential’s communications efforts are to grow the audience and connect with a growing community for increased reach, engagement, and conversion, primarily through the website, social media, email strategies, and strategic content efforts.

As the lead in this role, the Communications Director will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing the marketing and content calendar as a core strategic process.
Collaborating closely with our Executive Leadership Team, this position will execute communications priorities and contribute to the development of Exponential’s “Multiplier
Formational Journey”. The development of analytics and reporting will be crucial in tracking the success of our marketing and communications efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and have overall accountability for the marketing and content calendar (editorial calendar), ensuring timely execution.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to execute marketing and content priorities and contribute to developing strategies for special initiatives.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable communications and marketing contractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Develop compelling messaging for various channels, including emails, social media, etc.
  • Oversee website and mobile app strategies and execution, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Coordinate and manage the technology stack, leveraging the right tools and platforms to optimize internal and external efforts.

 

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Passionate about marketing and communications. Eager to learn and try new things while simultaneously managing existing ongoing activities.
  • Passionate about church multiplication content and its distribution. Future-focused and strategic as it relates to content and content distribution.
  • Proficient and experienced with existing social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Solid verbal communication skills, including the ability to formulate and articulate thoughts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team leadership abilities, including networking and collaborating with outside partners, vendors, sponsors, and speakers.
  • Solid written communication skills, including the ability to write articles, blog posts, and newsletters, proofread and edit publications, and create written strategies and action
    plans.
