Five Stones was planted by Carmel Baptist Church in 2009 with a mission to help people in the Waxhaw area know God and take their next steps with Him. For the first several years we hosted our Sunday morning services at Cuthbertson Middle School while renting office space in a storefront on Main St in downtown Waxhaw. Having an office on Main St allowed us to build connections and integrate with the town of Waxhaw; intentionally partnering with public services such as police, fire, Social Services, and schools.
We put a high emphasis on applying God’s Word, sharing life through small groups, and engaging our community through serving. We often say that the way to make a big church feel smaller is to join a Life Group and to serve.
The role of the Executive Pastor is a dynamic and vital role, Co-Pastoring with the Teaching Pastor helping to cultivate and lead church staff. This position ensures the church’s mission is focused and seamlessly carried out through strategic planning, organizational alignment, and team leadership.
The Executive Pastor is a spiritually mature man whose life reflects his commitment as a Christ Follower. He actively seeks and takes his next steps with God, embodying the mission, vision, and values of Five Stones Church.
