Staff Culture
- Our leadership is great at giving freedom to run. Pastor Buz loves giving people whiteboards to fill up with their own vision and ideas. If you want to dream and bring your skills and talents to the table, this is a role for you.
- If you love to learn and be curious and discuss options, this is a role for you!
- If you want to be a part of a growing church with a bit of a start-up feel, if you want to contribute to the development of a multisite vision, if you want to have room to grow, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Connections Ministry: This role will envision and oversee the Sunday experience “from street to seat,” helping people feel welcomed, planned for, and loved. They will be best in class at follow-up, helping people move from first time guests into engaged members of the church.
- Next Steps Pathways: The Discipleship Pastor will keep us sharp on our ability to move people far from God into lifelong discipleship. This includes Element’s Formation Pathway and things like Element Connect, our Sunday Classes, and more.
- Small Groups: This is the primary expression of community and growth at Element. Oversight here will entail leader care, tools, training, curriculum development and curation, and new member onboarding.
- Prayer Ministry: All pre-service intercession, prayer team in service (such as altar calls or post-service prayer tent), and weekly intercession will fall into this category.
- Baptism: The Discipleship Pastor will lead the way in helping people engage in this step of obedience, both in vetting their faith and discipling those in need, and in officiating baptism services.
- Pastoral Care: We want the discipleship pastor to build a care team for things like hospital visits, new mothers, elderly in need, and similar. They will also serve in areas like weddings, funerals, pastoral counseling, and the like. We’d love to imagine a team similar to what some call “deacons” equipped and unleashed to care for our church body.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
- 3-5 Years Experience of successfully leading church ministry Discipleship, Small Groups or like areas of responsibility in a church or other non-profit service organizations.
