Eastminster’s mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by Engaging community, Equipping believers, Empowering servants, and Extending our reach to the world.
Vision:
Eastminster seeks to be a church that faithfully follows Jesus and serves as a beacon of Christ’s hope and grace to East Cobb, the greater Atlanta community, and the world. The church desires to see people introduced to a relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in that relationship, and discover a community in which they can mature as disciples.
Values:
Eastminster values the Lordship of Jesus Christ as the head of the Church, Christ centered worship through Word and Sacrament, prayer and Bible centered teaching, genuine relationships, missions and evangelism, and the importance of family, fellowship, and caring for one another. These convictions are grounded in Scripture and Eastminster’s commitment to the Reformed tradition and the Essential Tenets of ECO.
- Provide spiritual leadership and overall direction for Eastminster’s ministries to middle school, high school, and college students, helping students progress from participation toward discipleship.
- Develop and implement a cohesive vision for youth and college ministries with intentional benchmarks for spiritual growth and faith development.
- Teach, disciple, mentor, counsel, and nurture students while cultivating a biblical worldview and mission minded faith.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and families, including being present at extracurricular activities and connecting with students beyond scheduled church programming.
- Recruit, disciple, train, and equip adult volunteers and student leaders to serve effectively within student ministry.
- Provide leadership for Sunday School, Confirmation, Sunday evening youth gatherings, Wednesday Bible studies, and other regular student ministry environments.
- Plan and lead retreats, mission experiences, conferences, summer activities, special events, and seasonal gatherings for students and college aged young adults.
- Develop meaningful opportunities for students to participate in worship and the broader life of the congregation, including Eastminster’s annual Youth Sunday.
- Maintain consistent year round communication and connection with college students, including students living away from East Cobb while attending school.
- Partner with parents and families as they disciple their children and navigate the transition from adolescence into young adulthood.
- Participate as an active member of the Eastminster staff team and collaborate with the Christian Education Team and Youth Ministry Team.
- Provide guidance and oversight for the annual youth ministry budget and related administrative responsibilities.
- A growing, vibrant, and demonstrable relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A genuine calling and passion for ministry with middle school, high school, and college aged students and their families.
- Previous experience leading or serving in student, youth, college, or next generation ministry.
- Strong biblical teaching skills with the ability to communicate Scripture clearly and help students apply biblical truth to everyday life.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and ministry colleagues.
- Experience recruiting, developing, training, and empowering volunteer leaders.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Experience planning and leading ministry programs, events, retreats, trips, and other student experiences.
- A collaborative ministry approach combined with the initiative and self direction necessary to lead a growing ministry.
- A college degree is expected, with biblical, theological, or ministry training preferred.
- Alignment with Eastminster’s theological convictions and willingness to embrace the Constitution, Essential Tenets, Polity, and Rules of Discipline of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians.
