Why I Love This Opportunity

Christine Kreisher

Associate

It’s amazing to partner with a spiritually anchored and culturally engaged church. God is doing something remarkable in and through Restoration. I’m confident God is preparing an amazing leader to take their student ministries to the next level!

About This Organization

Restoration Church in Arlington, Virginia, is a flourishing congregation of over 800 people who gather online or in person (650+) every Sunday to worship Jesus. Since 2009, God has been growing this faith community into a young, passionate, engaging liturgical church where anyone can worship, learn, and serve as they grow deeper with Jesus. It is a distinctly approachable, smart, and warm church of broken people being restored by grace and living God’s story.

With reformed theological, historical, and global roots, Restoration adds spiritual depth and perspective to a world-class, densely populated, self-governed county hungry for something transformative that lasts. In full view of what the next generation in Arlington faces, Restoration is searching for a Director of Youth Ministry who will inspire, guide, and challenge students from Arlington, McLean, Falls Church, Alexandria, and beyond toward evangelistic discipleship.

***NOTE TO APPLICANTS: Restoration is an Anglican church that welcomes candidates who align with reformed theology and affirm the leadership of women at all levels. Denominational affiliation is not required.

Position Description

Restoration’s Director of Youth Ministries will lead the Middle School and High School youth programs called “Apex.” The focus of this ministry is to help students in grades 6-12 grow deeper in their relationship with God, in Christ, through the Holy Spirit in a way that is winsome and attractive to their peers outside the church and that prepares them to be active servant-leaders in the church for a lifetime. In this full-time position, the Director will lead Apex staff and/or volunteers in creating easily accessible, meaningful opportunities for its 125+ strong group of students to grow as disciples and life-long followers of Jesus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape and implement an “evangelistic discipleship” strategy for Apex in collaboration with parents, volunteers, and key constituents
  • Create and develop a multi-year curriculum to disciple and equip students (grades 6-12)
  • Recruit, develop, and supervise Apex Small Group Leaders and ministry volunteers
  • Plan, lead, and execute consistent programming, small groups/studies, social gatherings, and special events that engage Middle School and High School students
  • Integrate Apex students into the life of Restoration Anglican Church, including opportunities to serve locally and globally, as well as intentional discipleship and mentoring

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Winsome Relational Leader: Someone who inspires 6-12th graders and draws respect from parents in ways that build a magnetic, relational, and spiritually engaging student ministry
  • Resilient Faith Builder: Someone who provides practical biblical teaching to captivate and challenge students and leaders toward a robust biblical worldview and evangelistic discipleship
  • Dynamic Team Developer: Someone who can rally, build into, expand, and mobilize teams of volunteers, both adults and students, to reach Middle School and High School students in Arlington and beyond
  • Evangelistic Discipleship Catalyst: Someone who will develop a clear evangelism/discipleship strategy, a robust and vulnerable approach to wrestling with tough faith and life topics, and an intentional life-on-life discipleship model (i.e., small groups, one-on-one mentoring) that students want to prioritize and participate in.
