Lead Pastor

The Lead Pastor will provide visionary leadership to advance the Mission, Vision, and Values of Compassion Christian Church. He will serve as the permanent member of the Elder Board while leading and collaborating with the Executive and Teaching teams. He will aggressively lead people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus and a growing ministry impact in the city, low country, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Experience: 7+ years of experience as a Lead Pastor, large broadcast campus pastor, or an active member of an executive team with significant leadership and preaching experience.
• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College, University, or Seminary. A graduate Seminary degree is preferred.
• Knowledge, skills, and gifts: The candidate must be tried and proven in ministry and have a passion for sharing Jesus. Candidate must demonstrate a Christ-like servant leader attitude in words and actions and have the ability to work with a wide variety of people, with superior people skills and emotional intelligence.

Expectations:

• Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Engages in a regular and ongoing (meeting at least monthly) accountability relationship with a staff partner or other approved person.
• Recognizes that our work is important and deserves our very best.
• Willing to lead from the front and model the commitment to Jesus and the ministry he expects from others.
• Strong marriage and family commitment to Jesus and his church.
• A tither who believes and teaches that generosity is a normal dynamic of true discipleship.
• Committed to both local and global outreach/missions.

• The candidate refrains from alcohol
• The candidate holds to the Christian Churches traditional view and respect for baptism
• The candidate will hold the Complementarian view of women in leadership
