About This Organization

Compass Church is a thriving, family-oriented congregation in the heart of Goodyear, Arizona—a rapidly growing community just west of Phoenix. With approximately 1,000 weekly attenders and a dynamic online presence reaching even more, Compass is a place where faith is active, community is intentional, and lives are transformed. The church is deeply rooted in its mission to help people find and follow Jesus, reflected in its modern, engaging worship services and strong commitment to the next generation—where students and children make up a third of the church body.

What began as a simple Bible study in 1992 quickly grew into a movement, leading to the launch of Compass Church. Over the years, the church has met in schools and a local theater before moving into its current campus in 2006. With Goodyear’s rapid expansion, Compass continues to grow alongside its community, soon breaking ground on a new 800-seat auditorium. Their core values—embracing adventure, community, commitment, compassion, and generosity—are more than words; they are lived out daily. As a member of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), Compass is passionate about biblically grounded teaching, authentic relationships, and a bold vision for the future.

About Location

While onsite with staff, volunteers and parents of students, I  asked “what do you like about Goodyear and the community as a whole?”
– I love the mountain views and 8 months of warm weather… the other 4 months are HOT!
– It’s still relatively affordable, especially in comparison to other western US cities!
– I love baseball, baseball is everywhere here!
– We are one of the most diverse states, we have the desert, lush green forests up north, Snow Skiing, house boating and The Grand Canyon… you can’t beat Arizona!
