Alan Cullen serves as the Lead Pastor of Community Church, bringing nearly three decades of ministry experience. With a deep passion for local church leadership, preaching God’s Word, and worship, he leads with joy and conviction. Under his guidance, Community Church has doubled in size while remaining focused on its mission to lead people into a focused life with Jesus Christ, extending the love of God and the message of the Gospel across Central Michigan. Alan’s heart is for people to know they are seen, known, and loved as they pursue life with Christ together.
- Model Biblical Priorities: Live with spiritual maturity, integrity, and Christlike character, modeling personal discipleship and reflecting Jesus in relationships, leadership, and daily life.
- Provide Strategic Leadership: Champion Community Church’s mission, vision, and values at the campus level. Partner with the Lead Pastor and Executive Team in planning and coordination, driving campus goals and action plans.
- Foster Congregational Care & Engagement: Build strong relationships, provide pastoral care, and communicate vision in a way that reflects the DNA of Community Church.
- Recruit & Develop Leaders: Identify, equip, and empower staff and volunteers. Invest in leadership development while building healthy, capable ministry teams.
- Oversee Ministry Administration: Steward campus resources with excellence, managing finances, facilities, and systems that support effective ministry.
The St. Johns Campus presents a unique and meaningful opportunity to lead within a church that has been renewed and revitalized. This campus was adopted by Community Church from an established congregation, and while it carries a rich history, it has stepped into a fresh season of alignment, health, and mission. The facility reflects its legacy, and the congregation is steadily experiencing new life as it embraces the broader vision of Community Church.
The St. Johns congregation includes many faithful, long-time members who care deeply about their church and community. This season brings both opportunity and sensitivity as the church has recently transitioned from its former Campus Pastor. The next leader will lead with humility, relational strength, and clear vision—someone who listens well, connects easily, and builds trust over time. There is a meaningful opportunity to love and guide the St. Johns campus into a strong and unified future.
This role is well-suited for a steady, team-oriented leader who thrives in collaboration and is committed to unified ministry. As part of Community Church, the St. Johns Campus is continuing to align with the church’s broader vision and ministry model. The next Campus Pastor will play a key role in fostering health, building momentum, and helping this campus flourish into its next chapter.
