Colts Neck Community Church

Worship Pastor

Colts Neck,

New Jersey

Why I Love This Opportunity

Mike Haight

Associate

Colts Neck Community Church has grown from about 30 people to an average weekend attendance of around 450 in the last decade. The person who steps into this role will be the church’s first full-time Worship Pastor and inherit a team of volunteers who are fully committed and invested in the ministry. The new Worship Pastor will be able to build on a solid foundation and bring Biblical depth to the church’s understanding of worship. As the worship services increase in God-honoring, joy-filled worship, more and more families will want to prioritize corporate worship. The church is excited to be guided under a worship pastor’s care, wisdom, and leadership.

About This Organization

Colts Neck Community Church was planted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1976 in a farm town about twenty minutes from the New Jersey coast. They are a healthy, vibrant, loving church committed to Biblical truth, the Gospel, and mission! There is genuine joy when they gather for worship and fellowship. They are a multi-generational church with an even balance of different age demographics. Even so, children and teenagers comprise about 1/5 of the gathering community on any Sunday. The church desires to see the Lordship of Christ spread throughout their town, county, state, society, and all the tribes and nations of the world.

Pastor Chris Durkin has led Colts Neck Community Church for 13 years by continually directing the church and the staff to our Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. He genuinely enjoys building friendships with the other pastors of the church. He strives to lead by example, work hard, encourage, listen, mentor, and be a peacemaker.

The church loves to study God’s Word and sing of God’s glory! Their musical worship is modern and CCM in style, and they love singing theologically rich songs that focus on the truth of God’s Word. The Sunday schedule includes identical services at 9:30 am, 11:00 am, and 5:30 pm. The atmosphere is casual and informal, and musical worship includes acoustic and electric guitars, keys, bass, drums, and 2-3 vocalists.
