Mission, Vision, and Values
Mission:
Citylight’s mission is to multiply disciples and churches.
Vision:
A church continually multiplying. As disciples multiply, so will City Groups and eventually churches.
Values:
Citylight organizes its values around four directions — Down, Up, In, and Out
- Down | Gospel: The gospel is the foundation of everything. God reaching down to humanity through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection is the power for personal salvation, transformation, and the renewal of neighborhoods, cities, and nations. Citylight never moves past Jesus or the gospel.
- Up | Spiritual Formation: The goal of the gospel is not just salvation but ongoing transformation. Citylight is committed to driving people to daily repentance and faith in Jesus for a changed and renewed life.
- In | Community: The church is a people, not just a place. Community is the context for gospel formation and mission, and Citylight pushes people beyond weekly attendance into genuine shared life together.
- Out | Mission: The church exists as God’s missionary agency. Every City Group is oriented around a defined mission — seeking to love, serve, and make disciples of specific neighborhoods and networks in and around Omaha.
Staff Culture
- Collaborative: Aligned across campuses and teams, not siloed.
- Mission-Driven: Ministry is a calling, not a job.
- Fun & Caring: A team that genuinely enjoys being together.
- Developmental: Strongly investing in the next generation of leaders.
- Multiplying: Wired for growth: leaders, groups, and churches.
