About This Organization

Christian Heritage Academy is a church-sponsored and supported Christian school with an enrollment of 120-150 students K-8 and approximately 70 students in preschool/VPK annually. The academy has been a part of the community for 45 years, starting as a covenant school and transitioning to a missional school to meet local needs. Situated in a diverse urban area, the academy has over 90% state-sponsored tuition assistance. Christian Heritage Academy offers faith-based, outwardly focused, quality education.

Position Description

The Head of School will need to excel in written and verbal communication as they unify and move the administration and teachers into a new season of leadership and growth. While much of the work falls under general school operations, this role requires a passionate individual who is ready to integrate Christ-like behavior into the workplace, students and family, and the broader community alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective spiritual, academic, and organizational leadership.
  • Oversee all human resources functions, including hiring, evaluation, and termination
  • Maintain high-level performance from teachers, administrative and support staff.
  • Maintain high academic excellence by managing and selecting curriculums that both challenge our students and advance their academic prowess.
  • Promote spiritual growth by exhibiting and enforcing Christlike behavior throughout the school and designing and managing systems that promote and encourage involvement in UBNC
  • Ensure finance and facilities are well managed. We have an expectation of excellence and good stewardship.
  • Promote Christian Heritage Academy in the community in a manner that enhances enrollment.
  • All other functions associated with school operations.

  • Multicultural Diversity: Classrooms have upwards of 7 languages / cultural backgrounds. It’s critical to understand cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the impacts these factors have on the classroom.
