Challenges and Opportunity
- Driven & Willing to Try
Staff at Christ the Rock Community Church (CRCC) thrive with a “roll up your sleeves and make it happen” mindset. After taking time to assess, the Youth Director will need to explore new strategies to reach more students. CRCC is a place marked by optimism, confidence, and creativity—and those qualities should show up in the Youth Ministry as well. The ideal candidate will bring a strong work ethic that matches the drive and pace of the team. - Collaborative, Fun & Healthy
The Youth Director will serve alongside a Youth Coordinator and additional support staff to reach students effectively. CRCC staff value collaboration—not just within the Youth Ministry, but across departments. Silos don’t work here. There’s strong teamwork, especially between the Youth and Children’s Ministries, to ensure a smooth transition as kids grow up through the church. The staff also values doing life together and making space to prioritize their own families. - Solid Foundation, Ready for Strategic Change
The new Youth Director will inherit a ministry with a strong foundation—the previous director served faithfully for five years and left things in a healthy place. But the ministry has been operating with a bit of a “status quo” mindset and could benefit from a fresh spark. There’s wide-open opportunity here for the new leader to reimagine, strategize, and rebuild momentum. Whether they’re gifted in ideation, organization, or relational connection, there’s meaningful progress to be made. - Scalable Volunteer Leadership
As CRCC continues to grow, the Youth Ministry needs a structure that grows with it. That happens through strong volunteer leadership. The Youth Director will need to invest in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to lead with confidence. With about 20 committed leaders already in place, there’s a great foundation—and they’re ready to be equipped to walk alongside students, partner with parents, and point the next generation to Jesus.

Leadership
- The ministry of Christ the Rock Community Church (CRCC) is led by Senior Pastor Darrell M. Owens, alongside a dedicated leadership team made up of staff and a Board of Directors. Pastor Darrell first joined CRCC as an Associate Pastor in 2006. After several years of faithful service—and during a difficult season in the church’s life, including a national search for a new Lead Pastor—he was asked to step into the role of Senior Pastor in 2008.
- Currently, the Board of Directors oversees the financial and business matters of the church. CRCC is also in the process of installing a Board of Elders who will eventually provide spiritual oversight and governance for all areas of church life.
- The current Executive Team includes Minister Tara Owens, Business Administrator Andy Sierra, and Pastor Tommy Cooper.
