Chinese Community Church

Lead Pastor

Sacramento, California

About This Organization

Founded in 1924, Chinese Community Church shared space in a converted residence originally on 5th and P Streets and then a few years later, moved to 519 N Street. In 1939, the fifteenth year of CCC’s early history, a severe storm seriously damaged the church, forcing it to be demolished. With the help of the Reformed Church in America, the congregation built a new two-story structure which enabled the church to grow. The church continued to thrive through the mid-1940s, but after WWII, many Chinese were now able to move into the suburbs away from the downtown church, causing its numbers to decrease.
For several years, the church struggled. In the late 1940s the consistory made the decision to implement a plan to move the church to a new location. With the help of the RCA again, the church built a new sanctuary and education building at its present site in 1951. And in 2007, CCC renovated and built a new education building and added larger kitchen facilities as well as a gym/ fellowship center.

We desire someone who not only has experience in preaching and teaching, but also has leadership and oversight skills. Above all, we would like a pastor who can continue ministering to our elderly members but also can reach out to young families, someone who will shepherd the congregation and reach out to those who do not yet know Christ.

  • Act as the primary teaching Pastor
  • To lead a teaching ministry that will encourage spiritual growth of the membership and awaken them to active outreach to their neighbors in evangelism
