Averaging around 8000 on the weekend, Champion Forest is well-resourced, passionate, and excited about the future and the possibility of reaching all kinds of people for Jesus. Over the past year, Champion Forest has experienced exponential growth, baptized almost 700 people, and is undergoing a $10 million campus renovation. There has never been a more exciting time to be part of this 50-year-old congregation!

Position Description

Working with special needs children, adults, and their families, the right candidate will have a passion for reaching this people group who are often overlooked and under-resourced. Champion Forest has a great vision to equip, train, and help these families not just survive but thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and shepherd the Special Needs team.
  • Build a team of leaders by nurturing relationships, ministering to, and walking alongside each volunteer.
  • Train leaders in the vision of the Special Needs ministry, policies and procedures, curriculum, developmentally appropriate procedures, positive guidance, etc.
  • Bring creativity and innovation to the Special Needs ministry.
  • Cast the vision of Special Needs to leaders and families.
  • Communicate weekly with leaders via e-mail, text, phone, or in-person.
  • Family Ministry…Minister to parents through relationships, training, education, and support.
  • Plan and implement respite events.
  • Plan and implement VBS for children with Special Needs.
  • Community Outreach – Be involved in the community to bring awareness to the Special Needs ministry.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Significant experience leading, building, and growing teams
  • Education and experience working with special needs children and adults
  • Proven record of success working in a large ministry or educational environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
