The Wisconsin Chapter of Safe Families for Children is well-positioned to increase awareness about the importance of family support and preventive care in child welfare, engage more volunteers, and expand its network across the state.
The new CEO/State Director will have the opportunity to significantly impact the lives of children and families. The organization boasts a remarkable team of talented and passionate leaders, each with unique expertise and experience, and the Director will have the opportunity to harness this talent and attract new collaborators. There is a stable volunteer and financial support base, coupled with many possibilities for increased engagement and expanded initiatives.
In 2003, Dr. David Anderson founded Safe Families for Children (SFFC), in Chicago, Illinois, to provide a compassionate system of support for families that are isolated and lacking community. Partnering with local churches and community organizations, SFFC forms networks of relationships and care that help families thrive and keep children safe. Recognizing the alignment of goals and shared commitment to the mission, several local chapters in Wisconsin have been working together for the past 10 years. Realizing the potential for shared infrastructure, volunteer training efforts, and consolidated funding streams, these groups have worked closely with the National Safe Families organization to establish an Affiliate agreement to do statewide work. The Wisconsin Chapter is now positioned to increase awareness about the importance of family support and preventive care in child welfare, engage more volunteers, and expand its network across the state.
