Central Christian Church

Gilbert Campus Pastor

Gilbert,
Arizona
The Gilbert Campus Pastor serves as the primary shepherd and leader of our largest broadcast campus, welcoming more than 2,000 people each weekend. This leader is the face of the campus—hosting services, building teams, developing staff, and helping people take meaningful next steps in their faith. This is not a “do all the ministry” role. It is an equipping role. The right leader will live out Ephesians 4:12 by building a team of staff, coaches, and volunteers who do the work of ministry together. We are looking for someone who can lead with maturity and energy—comfortable being highly visible on weekends and deeply intentional in leadership and ministry during the week.

Why We Love This Opportunity

The Gilbert campus is already a vibrant, established community with tremendous relational depth. The people love their church, love one another, and genuinely want to see their neighbors experience life in Christ.

At the same time, the campus is entering a fresh chapter. With strong attendance, a growing city around it, and a team ready to move forward together, the next campus pastor has the chance to help shape what the next season looks like.

This is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come around often: a healthy church, a committed congregation, and a meaningful leadership role where relational leadership truly matters.

A great match for this position would be:

  • A relational leader who naturally connects with large numbers of people and helps individuals feel seen and valued in brief but meaningful interactions.
  • A team builder who enjoys coaching staff and volunteers and believes strongly in equipping others to do the work of ministry.
  • A leader with the maturity and humility to lead collaboratively across a multisite church structure rather than operating as a solo decision-maker.
  • Someone comfortable being the face of a campus—hosting services and connecting with people—without needing to be the primary teaching voice.
  • A pastor who balances shepherding care with leadership clarity, loving people deeply while maintaining forward momentum.
  • A leader with a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus who models spiritual health and alignment with the church’s mission and values.

About This Organization

Central Christian Church has served the greater Phoenix area for decades, growing from a single-campus congregation into a thriving multisite church with five campuses across the Valley. For years, Central was known as a large, highly active church—fast-moving, program-rich, and widely recognized. Pre-COVID, attendance reached 10,000–11,000 across campuses. In recent years, the church has entered a season of focus and refinement—clarifying values, strengthening systems, decentralizing leadership to campuses, and prioritizing spiritual depth over sheer activity.

The Gilbert Campus, launched in 2007, is Central’s largest broadcast campus, welcoming more than 2,000 people each weekend. It is established, high-capacity, and full of potential. The church is not rebuilding from crisis; it is recalibrating for health, clarity, and long-term impact. There is strong attendance and real momentum—but also an honest desire to mature in systems, guest engagement, and discipleship pathways.

Central is biblically conservative and culturally wise. It strives to hold historic Christian conviction while creating a welcoming environment for those far from faith. The tone is intentionally apolitical and mission-focused, with a heart to bridge divides rather than inflame them.

Location

Gilbert, Arizona is consistently ranked as one of the best places in the country to live and raise a family. Located in the southeast portion of the Phoenix metro area, Gilbert combines the energy of a growing city with the warmth of a close-knit community. Families are drawn here for excellent schools, safe neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and a strong local economy.

Over the past two decades, Gilbert has grown rapidly while still maintaining a strong sense of identity and community. It’s a place where young families are planting roots, professionals are relocating, and neighborhoods are forming meaningful connections.
