Central Christian Church

Gilbert Campus Pastor

Gilbert,
Arizona

Why I Love This Opportunity

Gilbert is an exciting, high-capacity campus of Central Christian Church that welcomes 2,000+ people each weekend, has strong momentum and great potential. This role is about building people, equipping leaders, and shepherding a campus that is ready for focused, relational, team-of-teams leadership. If you are energized by leading through others, thriving in a collaborative culture, and helping a church move from crowd to community, this is a great opportunity.

About This Organization

Central Christian Church is a non-denominational, multisite church serving the greater Phoenix area. With five campuses across the Valley, Central is committed to one mission: to lead people to discover and fully own their faith in Jesus.

Central’s culture is not aspirational—it is conversational. “Jesus First, People Always, Made for More” shapes how we lead, communicate, and make decisions. Our staff culture reinforces that commitment: Same Team, Feedback Matters, Make It Better, Give It Away, and Healthy Hustle. Leaders are expected to embody these values, not just reference them.

The Gilbert Campus is a high-capacity broadcast campus welcoming over 2,000 people each weekend. This is not a small campus plant—it is an established, vibrant congregation in one of the fastest-growing communities in Arizona. The opportunity is significant: strong momentum, strong attendance, and strong potential for even deeper discipleship and community impact.

We are biblically conservative and culturally wise. We welcome people from every background and walk of life, and we lead them toward a growing, life-changing relationship with Jesus.

Position Description

The Gilbert Campus Pastor serves as the primary shepherd and leader of our largest broadcast campus, welcoming more than 2,000 people each weekend. This leader is the face of the campus—hosting services, building teams, developing staff, and helping people take meaningful next steps in their faith.

This is not a “do all the ministry” role. It is an equipping role. The right leader will live out Ephesians 4:12 by building a team of staff, coaches, and volunteers who do the work of ministry together.
We are looking for someone who can lead with maturity and energy—comfortable being highly visible on weekends and deeply intentional in leadership and ministry during the week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop Campus Staff: Provide direction, coaching, and spiritual leadership to the campus staff team while fostering a healthy, high-performing team culture aligned with Central’s values and culture.
  • Our church values are Jesus First, People Always, and Made for More.
  • Our staff culture values are Jesus First, Same Team, Feedback Matters, Make It Better, Give It Away, and Healthy Hustle.
  • Central Culture Champion: Champion Central’s culture, mission, and values on and off stage
  • Volunteer Development: Coach staff to Invite, Equip, and Engage volunteer leaders to serve and lead within campus ministries.
  • Campus Engagement: Engage people at their campus in their spiritual growth and connection by leading people to be engaged in groups, serving, giving, and etc.
  • Community Connection: Build relationships in the community to extend Central’s local impact.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide relational care, support, and guidance to individuals and families, supported by Central’s pastoral and ministry teams.
  • Service Hosting: Serve as the on-stage host for weekend services, creating a warm, engaging, and guest focused environment.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • A proven leader with at least 3–5 years of leadership experience in a large, multisite church environment (2,000+ preferred).
  • A relational leader who can make someone feel seen in 30 seconds and then move them toward deeper engagement later.
  • A team-of-teams builder who embraces Ephesians 4:12—equipping the saints rather than performing all ministry personally.
  • Comfortable hosting on a large platform with authenticity and warmth, without needing to be the primary teaching voice.
  • Humble, confident, collaborative—able to function within shared leadership across campuses.
