7 Leadership Values
- Know the Why: Point to Christ. Know and explain why you are doing what you are doing. Keep the main thing the main thing. Every activity we do deliberately and intentionally involves Christ.
- Strive for Excellence: Give your best effort for Christ. Do the best you can with what you have. Focus on doing a few things well.
- Think It Through: Have a plan and communicate it well and often. Be intentional with every detail. Plan margin for the unexpected.
- Put People First: Put people before policy – how to avoid being contradictory. Be sensitive to God’s leading in all situations. Be flexible to help people.
- Believe the Best: Give people the benefit of the doubt. Choose to believe the best, then confirm. Stay positive in the midst of trials because we hope in Christ.
- Be Candid and Direct: Feedback is our friend. Press into the awkward. Don’t delay in practicing Matthew 18.
- Invest in the Next: Whenever possible, take someone with you. Delegate responsibilities and let him/her lead.
