Position Description

The Campus Pastor is the face of Hosanna at a campus. The pastor is a high-capacity leader who builds teams to ensure the success of the local campus. Success is defined as a growing campus unified around Hosanna’s Vision, Mission, Culture and Ministry focus. This pastor serves to influence the entire congregation and staff through leadership, team building, communication and relationships at the assigned campus. The Campus Pastor has three primary areas of investment: 1) Replicate Hosanna’s Culture, 2) Recruit and develop leaders & lead campus staff in recruiting and developing leaders, 3) Execute Hosanna’s Ministry Model.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Replicate Hosanna’s Culture: Live and Lead the Hosanna Way, Hosanna’s Teaching Statement, Hosanna’s Mission and Vision. Hold staff and volunteers at the campus accountable to these cultural elements.
  • Recruit and Develop Leaders: Show intentionality about discipling people and developing leaders through invitation, constructive points of challenge and walking people through Hosanna’s Leadership Pipeline
  • Lead campus staff in recruiting and developing leaders and oversee staff in recruiting and developing leaders.
  • Lead in the overall pastoral care for the campus, including meetings with attendees, hospital visits, counseling, and other pastoral acts: baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc. (This also includes deploying other staff and chaplains to care for the church.)
  • Responsible for being Hosanna’s representative in the larger community by communicating Hosanna’s mission and vision to the community and the influencers/leaders in the community.
  • Execute Hosanna’s Ministry Model: Be a champion for and lead the implementation of Hosanna’s Ministry Model at the campus level. This includes:
  • Goal setting in relation to Hosanna’s Dashboard and Hosanna’s larger ministry goals.
  • Driving the Campus Team toward Hosanna’s Ministry Focus defined in Hosanna at a Glance.

 

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • A leader and developer who’s primary focus is the development of their staff and volunteer team
  • Someone who exegetes their local community to determine what the needs are and develops teams and strategies to meet those needs
  • An effective communicator who can lead pastoral moments from the stage in a large room and to an online audience
  • An emotionally healthy leader who is personally grounded and secure, and is able to lead as a second chair at a simulcast campus
  • Demonstrated experience in pastoral work, large church experience, leadership development
  • Master’s degree in Theology, Biblical Studies is preferred
