I love RiverTree and their dream to see everyday missionaries following Jesus into their mission fields – their offices, their neighborhoods, their schools, and beyond. This is a great opportunity for a highly strategic leader inspired to build and grow a church campus into the preferable future and that is passionate about teaching and developing ministry and leaders.
For over 60 years, RiverTree has been actively serving Stark County and beyond. Formerly Jackson Christian Church, opening on Easter Sunday 1964 as a church plant of First Christian Church in Canton. That’s one of the reasons they are so passionate about church planting.
Today, the RiverTree Movement consists of 8 churches serving specific communities in Stark and Summit Counties ranging in size from 100 to 1,000 people. We are proud of the multiple “third spaces” including a Center for Leadership in Downtown Canton, a Preschool/Childcare Center inside RiverTree Jackson, and a coffee shop in Canal Fulton that continue to be stellar platforms for disciple-making, spiritual development, and community collaboration in our area.
RiverTree Jackson was the first of the 8 church locations and remains the largest in our Movement. With an average Sunday attendance of 700 adults plus 250 children (birth through middle school), RiverTree Jackson is passionate about sharing Jesus with families and the next generation. Recently the congregation contributed almost $700K toward the expansion and renovation of kids ministry and student ministry areas in the building that is now underway. Additionally, RiverTree Jackson serves an average of 250 children in weekday programming for middle school through high school. RiverTree Jackson is looking for a Lead Pastor as excited as they are to make this priority investment for generational impact in our area..
Alongside ministry programs for adults and groups, RiverTree Jackson is known for its generous outreach efforts. Partnerships throughout the year and through the holidays care for our community from providing food pantry and Thanksgiving meals to those in indeed to picking up a hammer to build homes with Habitat for Humanity of East Central Ohio. Onsite our Back to School Bash and Pumpkin Patch Festival welcome the community for fun, meaningful activities to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
The primary purpose of this position is to lead the Jackson Campus of RiverTree. The Lead Pastor serves as the leader of the Jackson Campus by providing vision, oversight, regular teaching and shepherding. He will work most closely with the Campus Team, Lead Pastors, Movement Leadership Team, and RiverTree Central Operations Teams to accomplish the mission of RiverTree Church. The Lead Pastor at RiverTree Jackson Campus will lead the Jackson campus toward God’s vision for living as disciples of Jesus Christ in their unique contexts through their common vehicles of missional communities, public gatherings, and partnerships.
