Foothills Church

Campus Pastor

,

Tennessee

Why I Love This Opportunity

Keith Twigg

Senior Associate

Foothills Church is a relational, fast-paced environment where the sole focus of all their energy is “making disciples in relational environments.” The right Campus Pastor will inherit a Knoxville Campus that has seen great success in the last three years, but they have only scratched the surface of what God can do!

About This Organization

Pastor Trent Stewart and his wife, Micah, planted Foothills Church in 2009 in Maryville, TN, a suburb just outside Knoxville. The church began meeting in a local school, and two years later, they purchased a building that became their permanent home. During these twelve years, the church grew steadily in attendance, baptizing new believers and connecting them into small groups. FC is a “Sending Church,” helping to plant a church in Washington, DC. In 2018, the church purchased land next door to create a new worship facility with 1,200 people. In 2021, FC remodeled the original building, creating office space, kids’ space, and a recording studio. That same year, the church embraced a multi-site model and launched its second location in Knoxville. Pre-COVID attendance was 1,800 people per weekend, with current attendance at 2,100.

Foothills Church is a healthy and growing community of believers. This health is demonstrated financially and spiritually—they recently celebrated Easter Sunday with over 4000 in attendance. With a dynamic and young staff, Foothills’s creative, production, and worship ministries are constantly working to create meaningful and innovative worship experiences for the congregation. State-of-the-art facilities and technology enable the creative ministries to communicate in a relevant and professional manner. With vast resources, new facilities, and cutting-edge technology, Foothills is poised for significant growth in the days ahead.

In 2021, Foothills launched its second location in Knoxville. The campus started with 130 people and met in a middle school. Seventy-five people from the Maryville location committed to be members of the Knoxville campus, joining those who already lived in Knoxville. In 2023, Foothills signed a lease on a landmark community movie theater that had gone out of business and started meeting there. Foothills remodeled part of the building and currently meets in one of the theaters, with plans to enlarge the auditorium in 2025.
