Position Description

The Pastor of Staff Development and Facilities serves as a key leadership role reporting directly to the Lead Pastor. This individual is responsible for developing and overseeing the systems and processes to increase professional and operational growth within the church staff. This person will also give direct support to the Director of Facilities. The role is pivotal in ensuring that both the human and physical resources of the church align with and support the church’s mission and vision.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Staff Development:

  • Leadership Development: In partnership with the leadership team, create and implement a comprehensive development plan for ministry and support staff, incorporating leadership training, spiritual formation, and skill-based growth.
  • Performance Management: Lead the staff review process through structured quarterly evaluations and development plans.
  • Finances and H.R Oversight: Partner with the Office Manager and Financial Administrator to onboard and offboard staff. Ensure new staff are successfully integrated into the church culture with clear expectations, training, and connection opportunities. Work with the Financial Administrator and Lead Pastor to oversee the creation and stewardship of church budgets.
  • Training Programs: Design, implement, and evaluate professional development initiatives across ministry areas (e.g., communication conflict resolution, processes and procedures, organizational leadership).
  • Team Culture: Serve as part of the Leadership Team to help to foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and shared purpose through team-building initiatives and communication.

 

Facilities Oversight:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead long-term planning for facilities, ensuring they support ministry needs, safety standards, and church growth.
  • Operations Management: Supervise the maintenance, security, and day-to-day operation of all church buildings and grounds.
  • Project Oversight: Assist the Director of Facilities in renovation or expansion projects, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Compliance & Safety: Work with the Director of Facilities and Financial Administrator to ensure the church complies with local codes, insurance standards, and best practices for safety and accessibility.
