Mission:

To see disciples of Jesus making disciples—impacting families, neighborhoods, and the city of Nashville with the hope of the gospel.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a comprehensive NextGen ministry that includes preschool, children, and student ministry areas at the Avenue South campus.
- Develop and implement a discipleship strategy that equips kids, students, and parents to grow as followers of Jesus.
- Recruit, train, and care for a growing team of volunteers and leaders, creating a culture of engagement and excellence.
- Partner with parents to equip them as the primary spiritual influencers in their homes.
- Oversee programming and environments that connect with kids and students at every phase of life, ensuring smooth transitions between age levels.
- Supervise and develop part-time staff, residents, and ministry leaders involved in NextGen areas.
- Maintain alignment with Brentwood Baptist’s mission, vision, and NextGen team, collaborating with central leaders and other campus ministers.
- Manage budgets, ministry plans, and communication systems to support healthy growth and organization.
- Ensure compliance with all MinistrySafe policies, volunteer screening, and best practices for child safety.
- Lead and support major events such as VBS, camps, family events, and student gatherings that advance the church’s discipleship mission.
- Model spiritual maturity and servant leadership as part of the Avenue South campus staff team.
Key Qualifications
- A mature and growing follower of Jesus Christ with a clear calling to vocational ministry.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (required); seminary training preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience serving on staff in a local church, preferably in children’s, next gen, or family ministry.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams of staff and volunteers.
- Skilled at building systems and structure to support ministry growth and organization.
- Strong communication and relational skills with kids, parents, and adult leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip, and empower volunteers for ongoing ministry.
- Comfortable serving in a multi-campus environment with central support and shared alignment.
- Emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and collaborative—able to thrive in a high-trust, fast-growing church culture.
- Passionate about partnering with parents to help kids and students grow in faith and live out the gospel.
