Student Pastor

The Student Pastor will be primarily responsible for working closely with the Student and Family ministry teams to provide Godly leadership in the overall Family ministry of Bible Christian Church, working in conjunction with the Executive Pastor and staff of BCC to fulfill the vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the direction and integration of student and family ministries
• Oversee the development and ongoing ministry to junior and senior high school student
• Oversee the development and carrying out of trips, retreats, and mission projects for student
• Establish and provide oversight of student discipleship groups. Provide vision, direction, and oversight to the student ministries leadership team, staff, and volunteers
• Recruit and equip volunteer ministry leaders for junior and senior high school ministries
• Partner with parents to facilitate the spiritual growth of student
• Provide shepherding and spiritual encouragement to a ministry leader
• Ensure that biblical and relevant teaching is provided throughout student ministry
• Encourage teaching that is transformational rather than merely information
• Ensure teachers are adequately trained and equipped for ministry
• Ensure the child/volunteer protection process is operating within current safety guidelines. Provide direction to the communication team for student ministry-related need
• Work collaboratively with children and family ministry leaders to develop and maintain a comprehensive ministry to families
• Keep current with ministry trends through reading, seminars, discussions, and conference
• Continue personal and professional growth by being involved in mentoring/coaching relationship
• Assist in pastoral care duties as assigned
• As directed, establish and manage the annual budget for areas of responsibility
• Provide oversight and support of the kids’ ministry leaders, including the kids’ ministry director, the Flash kids’ ministry leader, and the AIM leader (All Included Ministry). Lead the K-12 vision, working with the Children’s Director
• Help support and facilitate budgets, curriculum, leadership training, and ministry execution

• Submits their life to God and the authority of his Word and models a commitment to developing the character of Christ, with a passion for ministry
• Possesses a Christ-like mindset that has demonstrated itself in all facets of life because they have been made new but have not forgotten what it was like not to know Jesus
• Track record of advertising or branding that has created positive, measurable results outside of a church environment
• Has the ability to give constructive feedback regularly that helps make better work and grow staff interpersonally
• Can learn new creative things
• Has the ability to manage large projects with lots of moving parts
• Values Teamwork – welcomes feedback, contributes to building morale and connection amongst teams of people, puts success of team above own interest
