- The Lord’s Day Gathering: The weekly gathering of God’s people is the central event from which everything else flows and where the means of grace converge.
- Biblical Community: Sanctification is a community project requiring proximity, honesty, and a church culture that values depth over polished appearances.
- Transformation, Not Information: The objective of discipleship is life transformation and progress in looking more like Jesus, not merely intellectual assent.
- Wherever Your Feet Are: Every believer is a missionary sent by Jesus into their everyday spaces, with no divide between the sacred and the secular.

Staff Culture
- The staff thrives in a grounded, Scripture-first culture that intentionally rejects hype-driven performance and trusts God to transform people through the ordinary means of grace.
- The team operates with a positive, driven, teachable, and others-first mindset, leaving no room for ego or passive-aggressive behavior.
- Relationships are highly authentic and not performative, expecting direct, honest, and human communication over corporate polish or “church language”.
- The staff values a culture of presence and consistency, prioritizing leaders who naturally move toward people and “show up” at games, in homes, and in crisis moments.
- The work environment is being actively formed around vulnerability, gospel humility, and safety, encouraging leaders to minister from a healthy spiritual overflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Berkley Chapel’s Student Ministry, creating an environment where students encounter the gospel, grow in Christ, and learn to live on mission.
- Recruit, develop, and shepherd volunteer leaders who care for students and families with consistency and relational depth.
- Equip parents as primary disciplers through intentional training, mentoring, and practical resources that integrate faith into everyday life.
- Build a unified discipleship pathway from birth through graduation, aligning Kids, Students, and adult discipleship into one clear direction.
- Provide pastoral care to families—walking with them through marriages, parenting, crises, and spiritual growth.
- Provide oversight to Kids Ministry, ensuring theological clarity and strong volunteer culture.
- Teach regularly in student environments and family-focused settings, and potentially in weekend services from time to time.
- Engage the local community by building relationships with students, schools, and families—showing up where life actually happens.
Key Qualifications
- You must maintain an active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and be in full agreement with Berkley Chapel’s doctrinal statement and theological convictions.
- You must clearly meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- You must possess proven experience leading a Student Ministry, demonstrating the ability to build, lead, and grow a ministry both relationally and structurally.
- You must have a strong, demonstrated ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteer teams effectively.
- You must be a strong communicator and teacher with a developing preaching ability and a high view of expository teaching.
- A Bachelor’s degree and experience with multi-age family ministries are highly preferred.
