Why We Love This Opportunity

I love this opportunity because Beach Church is a rapidly growing church in a coastal town in South Carolina. The lead pastor is committed to reaching lost people and building a culture where people are cared for no matter their stage of life or what they are walking through. In addition, the lead pastor has a great vision of expanding to other coastal communities to reach more people. This position is going to be pivotal in the next season of growth for Beach Church. If you are looking for a high level position to use your gifts in a fast growing church in a great community, this might be the opportunity for you.

A great match for this position would be:

  • Ownership: Someone Who Embraces and Champions Mission, Vision and Values
  • System Builder: someone who can build and develop systems that bring order and produce growth
  • Problem Solver: someone who anticipates and resolves directly and early
  • People Person: someone who listens to people and cares and leads them with humility and grace
  • Thrives in Second Chair: someone who can execute vision and thrive in the second chair

About This Organization

Beach Church launched in 1992 with with the goal to become a contemporary church in Myrtle Beach. Over the years, the church experienced seasons of growth, challenge, transition, and rebuilding. In January 2023, new leadership brought clarity and refined the mission, guiding values, assimilation, etc. Now our mission is to Lead people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus. Since then, the church has experienced rapid growth as people across the Grand Strand began searching for hope, truth, community, and a fresh start. What makes Beach Church unique is the mix of people walking through the doors every weekend – lifelong believers, skeptical teenagers, exhausted parents, recovering addicts, retirees, tourists, hospitality workers coming straight from shifts, and people carrying real church hurt.

Current life at Beach Church moves fast. Weekend services feel alive and expectant. Baptisms fill the beach. Volunteers work hard to make room for guests. The lobby stays crowded long after services end because people genuinely want connection and prayer. The church gives away free Bibles every weekend because we believe God’s Word changes lives when people read it and apply it. Sermons stay direct, biblical, and practical because we want people to understand scripture clearly and know how it connects to everyday life.

Today, Beach Church averages more than 2,300 people each weekend and continues to grow. The church recently added a Saturday night service to better serve the rhythms of a coastal community where many people work Sundays. Along with that growth comes constant pressure to build systems, develop leaders, expand discipleship, and protect the culture that makes the church feel personal and welcoming. Through it all, Beach Church continues to hold tightly to five guiding values – Life-Changing Truth, Transparent Living, Uncomfortable Grace, Selfless Service, and Captivating Celebration.

Location

Life around Myrtle Beach moves between tourist energy and everyday coastal living. Summers bring packed roads, busy restaurants, beach traffic, and long work hours for people in hospitality and service industries. During the quieter months, the pace slows down and the area feels much more local and connected. Families, retirees, small business owners, and workers from every background call the Grand Strand home.

The area has beautiful beaches, golf courses, marshes, and waterway communities, but it also carries real struggles like rapid growth, rising costs, addiction, and family stress. Many people move here looking for a fresh start, which gives the community an open and welcoming feel.
