Groups Pastor

Small groups are critically important in pursuing our mission and vision at Bartlett Baptist Church. Through properly functioning groups, people far from God can connect with Him through the study of God’s Word and place their faith in Jesus for eternal life. Groups also provide the perfect environment for people to connect with one another to develop real, transparent relationships that are vital in ongoing transformation into the likeness of Jesus.
The Groups Pastor is responsible for developing and supporting groups and connection strategy that aids BBC in fulfilling its mission and vision through our First Impressions ministry, as well as our groups’ ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a growing group ministry that creates a spiritual environment in which the Word of God is taught so that followers of Jesus will grow into the likeness of Jesus and those far from God will come to know Him through faith in Jesus.
• Develop an annual groups plan, including the selection of groups curriculum, with an aim to improve both the quality of groups ministry and also the number of groups.
• Develop a group leader recruitment and training strategy that ensures the ability to grow the groups ministry.
• Plan and conduct regular group leader meetings designed to encourage and equip leaders to serve effectively.
• Oversee the First Impressions ministry by recruiting, organizing, training, and regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the ministry and those involved.
• Work with Sr. Pastor to develop and maintain a process of assimilation that moves guests to fully engaged and serving members of BBC.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

• Submits their life to God and the authority of his Word, and models a commitment to developing the character of Christ, with a passion for ministry
• A Christ-like mindset that has demonstrated itself in all facets of life because they have been made new but have not forgotten what it was like to not know Jesus
• A firm believer in teamwork – welcomes feedback, contributes to building morale and connection amongst teams of people, puts success of team above own interest
• Must have no less than 3 years of experience in leading groups ministry.
• Must have earned a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in a ministry-related field.
