About This Organization

The Church of the Living Christ of Loysville is the outgrowth of a home Bible study which started on May 1, 1981. What started as a small group of people has now grown into a church of 400. In addition to weekly worship, Sunday School and youth group on Sunday and prayer meeting and Kids Bible Club and youth teaching time on Wednesday evening, there are numerous opportunities for fellowship, service and community life.

Position Description

The Associate Pastor of Youth and Families is considered ministering staff. As such, this pastor develops and implements the essential pillars of the youth programs (teaching, shepherding, discipling, encouragement and fellowship). This ministry will be
conducted within the vision and leadership of the Elder Board and with the support of the Pastoral Staff and the Elder Board.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the overall vision for youth ministries.
  • Provide Biblical teaching to youth group based on an approved course of study.
  • Provide discipleship and general counseling to youth.
  • Work with volunteers to assure Biblically based curricula and assist with planning to implement effective programs for youth.
  • Plan, implement, chaperone and evaluate special events for the youth program, including, but not limited to: missions trips, camps, retreats, fellowship and service opportunities.
  • Build, train and shepherd teams of engaged youth program volunteers.
  • Participate as a member of the Church of the Living Christ Pastoral Team
  • Occasionally provide sermon for morning worship service or prayer meeting lessons during absence of Senior Pastor.

  • Fun: Someone who can create opportunities for students to have fun and connect with their peers.
