Mission, Vision, and Values
- Gospel: We gather around the magnetic center of Jesus Christ. Through his life, death, and resurrection, God’s kingdom has arrived on earth to renew all things—our relationship with God, ourselves, others, and the world.
- Personal Transformation: We help people respond in faith to the new reality that the Kingdom of God has arrived in Jesus and to learn the practices of spiritual formation: renewing minds, reordering priorities, reshaping habits, and redirecting work.
- Community Formation: We live as a community of friends extending personal care to one another across generational, ethnic, and cultural lines.
- Public Faith: In being honest and transparent about our faith, we endeavor to be relationally winsome, accessible, respectful, humble, and loving, even when it requires courage for us to announce the gospel.

- Church Planting: We use the resources that God has given us to start and support new churches, because the local church is the primary agent of God’s kingdom.
- Gospel Movement: We want to be a catalyst for a movement of the gospel in our city and region that is a dynamic set of interactive relationships between gospel centered churches, a variety of specialist ministries, as well as many other institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the spiritual formation of children from birth through fifth grade through Christ centered, age appropriate teaching and worship.
- Develop and implement curriculum that reflects Scripture, Anglican theology, and the rhythms of the church year.
- Partner closely with parents by equipping and supporting them as primary guides in their children’s faith formation.
- Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer leaders and caregivers, fostering a culture of joy, safety, and excellence.
- Oversee all childcare operations for worship and parish events, ensuring safe, welcoming, and well run environments.
- Serve as the Safeguarding Coordinator, ensuring full compliance with diocesan policies and safe ministry practices.
- Lead outreach and community facing initiatives that welcome new families into the life of the church.
- Support clear, warm, and consistent communication across children’s ministry and the broader parish life.
Key Qualifications
- Mature Christian faith and clear call to ministry with children and families.
- Demonstrated experience and proven ability to teach, lead volunteers, and build relationships with children and families within a church or Christian education context.
- Deep understanding of Scripture and commitment to the Anglican tradition.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital tools for communication and scheduling in a Mac-based environment (Google Workspace, Planning Center, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree required; theological or ministry training preferred.
- Joyfully aligns with the theological convictions and vision of Apostles Houston.
- Appreciates Apostles’ wider calling to serve as a resource church and participates generously in sharing ministry practices and insights with others.
- Completion of diocesan Safeguarding certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
