Alto Reformed Church is offering a special opportunity for a pastor who loves the feel of a small-town community while also dreaming big for all God can do through the local church’s ministry. The right candidate will have the time of their life building and leading efforts to reach the community and equip people to live missionally.
The Alto Reformed Church began in 1846 when ten families moved to the area and began to gather in various homes for worship.
The legacy of Alto Reformed Church is not only in its beautiful 1898 sanctuary, but its faithful pursuit of supporting the mission and standing on the truth.
Alto has supported and sent multiple leaders into ministry and missions and planted four churches over the years which in turn planted other churches.
The support of mission work to youth in our community is evident in building projects, staff hires, and vibrant programs for children and youth that exist today. The church also lives out this missional value in supporting multiple missionaries worldwide, sending groups on short-term missions multiple times a year, and blessing local ministries with funds, donations, and volunteers.
The legacy of standing on truth has solidified as the church faced difficult issues in the culture and sought to do what is right in the sight of God. Most recently, the church voted overwhelmingly to leave the RCA and join like-minded RCA churches to form the Alliance of Reformed Churches. While departure was heartbreaking, it was also unifying to take a stand on the truth again.
Alto Reformed Church is seeking an Associate Pastor focused on developing our ministry to young adults and families. The position will include overseeing our Equipping Adults Ministry, expanding our outreach ministry and small groups, nurturing relationships, and performing some general pastoral duties, including preaching. This person will work with the Lead Pastor, the Equipping Children and Families Director, the Equipping Youth Director, and the Office Administrator to help the church live our mission to know Jesus and to make Jesus known.
