Advent Church

NextGen Pastor

Memphis,

Tennessee

Why I Love This Opportunity

Eric Voris

Associate

I love this role because it offers a high level of leadership and influence at a church that is poised to make a huge impact in the community! There is growing momentum behind the fresh vision from the Lead Pastor (who also happens to be an incredible guy), and the area is exploding with growth. This role has almost unlimited potential for someone looking to build a ministry and train leaders for the sake of expanding the Kingdom.

About This Organization

Advent Church has a rich history in the Northeastern suburbs of Memphis and is poised to make a huge impact in the coming years. The church was planted in the 1970s in the up-and-coming area of Cordova as part of the PCA. They have since shifted and become a part of the EPC to better align with their theological stances. That being said, they are not “overly Presbyterian” and have a pretty diverse collection of Christian backgrounds represented both on their staff and in the congregation. They really live out their creed: in essentials – unity, in non-essentials – liberty, in all things – grace.

The most recent change that has brought incredible momentum to the Advent community is the new Lead Pastor, Caz Minter, joining the team in 2021. Caz is a team builder, an experienced leader, and the kind of guy people just love to be with. Caz has a long track record of leading churches and navigating change, and has used those skills to breathe fresh life into the Advent community.
