Position Description

Bear Creek Church is committed to the vision of connecting people in discipleship through on-campus Life Groups and Discipleship Courses on Sundays and throughout the week. We desire to develop a culture of discipleship.

We are seeking a pastor who will lead adults to connect with the church and grow in their faith through discipleship groups and courses. As a key leader serving on the Executive Team, the Adult Ministries Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor to help the church fulfill its vision and goals.

The primary function of this role will be to create a discipleship pathway, develop leaders, and engage adults in spiritual growth groups and courses.


Key Responsibilities:

  • As an Executive Team Leader, help develop and oversee church-wide strategy and initiatives with the Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Executive Team.
  • Develop a Discipleship Pathway for adults to grow from new believers to mature Christ-followers.
  • Develop and lead a Discipleship Strategy creating a culture of connecting adults in discipleship groups, courses, and seminars.
  • Lead a goal-oriented growth strategy for the Adult Discipleship Ministry.
  • Ensure a healthy culture of discipleship groups that connect, care for, and disciple adults.
  • Direct the Connection Ministry overseeing greeters and next step systems like salvation response follow up, baptism follow up, guest follow up, membership, and group connections.
  • Develop and implement a process for recruiting and developing volunteer leaders.
  • Faithfully serve as a pastor, providing spiritual guidance, counseling, and care.


What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • A gifted relational pastor who leads with urgency & intensity
  • A burden for the lost in the local community
  • A goal-oriented leader who creates and maintains a culture of clarity that leads to successful ministry
  • Gifted in both creating pathways for involvement in general and building up new leaders specifically.
  • A passion for on-campus groups & course strategy
  • A four-year Bible degree from an accredited institution is required; a seminary degree is strongly preferred.
  • 8-10 years of relevant ministry experience.
