Worship Minister

Church or Org Description *
Since 1978 Oakwood Christian Church has been advancing the gospel in Enid, Oklahoma. Just a handful of folks had the vision to see a church rooted in God’s Word and it quickly grew. Oakwood Christian now sees over 700 every weekend. It is a contemporary church that has a track record of growth and outreach to both the surrounding area and the world.

The facility at Oakwood reflects this effort to reach out through the Oakwood Activity Center built two decades ago. “It’s connected to the mission,” says Senior Pastor Eric Keller, “people join here to work out, have their kids join a sports league, or play pick up the ball in open gym times and racquetball. Eric began as the Kids Pastor/Student Pastor and eventually became the Senior Pastor over a decade ago.

The sanctuary has all the tools of modern worship with haze, moving lights and large screens that flank each side of the platform. IMAG is used during the message and other key speaking times. Oakwood has a thriving kids ministry and student ministry. There is a lot of life in the church as you walk the halls from one end of their facility to the other.

Position Description *
“We’re looking for a Worship Minister who has a burning passion for un-churched people and the ability to create environments and programming to move them to become fully committed disciples of Jesus,” says Eric. “We’re searching for a leader who relates to a rapidly changing culture and has the ability to recruit, equip and deploy other adult leaders who share that passion for outreach and discipleship through worship.”

The church is looking for a:
– Worship leader
– Singer/Musician
– Team player and Team Builder

The current volunteers are very solid, the rotation is good, and ownership is high, but new people aren’t added that often. This transition will afford this opportunity. There’s also a sense that a warmer/worshipful presence is needed for the next level.
