Pleasant Valley Baptist Church

Executive Pastor - Administration

Liberty,
Missouri
The Executive Pastor – Administration (XPA) serves as the Chief Operating Officer, reporting directly to the Lead Pastor. The XPA is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of the church staff to implement the church’s mission, vision, and values. The XPA functions to relieve the Lead Pastor of administrative and operational details, thereby freeing the Lead Pastor for the core tasks of study, teaching, preaching, and denominational/ecumenical service. While the Lead Pastor provides the overall vision and direction, the XPA is the operational executive managing the congregation’s day-to-day details.

Why We Love This Opportunity

I love the sense that God is already at work at Pleasant Valley, and this role gets to help steward the growth and momentum He is creating. It’s a meaningful opportunity for a gifted operational leader to strengthen the people, systems, and strategy behind the ministry – creating greater capacity for Pleasant Valley to continue living out its mission in the years ahead.

A great match for this position would be:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develops and executes long-term strategies that align people, resources, and priorities with the church’s mission and vision.
  • Operational Excellence: Builds scalable systems, processes, and organizational structures that enable ministry effectiveness and operational health.
  • People & Team Leadership: Develops leaders, fosters accountability, coaches staff, and builds a healthy, high-performing culture.
  • Growth-Minded & Agile: Leads organizations through growth and transition with clarity, courage, and thoughtful change management while maintaining trust.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrates sound judgment in financial stewardship, budgeting, governance, risk management, and organizational decision-making.

About This Organization

Pleasant Valley is a multigenerational church with nearly 80 years of ministry in the Kansas City Northland and a clear mission: to know Jesus, become like Jesus, and lead others to do the same. What began with 20 people gathering in a local school has grown into a thriving church with a 65-acre, debt-free campus in Liberty, Missouri, serving one of the region’s growing communities.

Throughout its history, Pleasant Valley has consistently invested in people, ministry, and the next generation. A major campus renovation completed in 2024 created dedicated space for children and students while strengthening the church’s ability to serve its congregation and community throughout the week. That same outward focus extends beyond the campus through local and global missions, community partnerships, and the development of ministry leaders.

Today, Pleasant Valley is entering an important new chapter under Lead Pastor Zac Hufty, who began serving in the role in fall 2025. Building on a strong foundation of faithful ministry, PV is looking ahead with a renewed focus on reaching people, making disciples, developing leaders, strengthening families, and investing in the next generation. It is a season that honors where the church has been while intentionally preparing for where God is leading it next.

Location

The surrounding community is typically referred to as Liberty, even if on the Kansas City side of the highway.

It has full access to big city experiences such as Major league sports teams and a healthy job market, however it possesses small town feels where everyone seems to know everyone.

The surrounding community has many households having school aged children attracted to area schools districts.

Liberty has grown from a small outlying suburb to a desirable regional destination for families. There is a strong community pride in the town and people tend to truly care for each other.
