Doxology Bible Church

Family Pastor

Fort Worth,
Texas

About This Organization

Doxology Bible Church is a Christ-centered community in Fort Worth committed to “developing Christ-centered people who make a difference,” and that mission comes alive every week through a church that is deeply invested in its city. From a special-needs-inclusive kids ministry and vibrant youth and college programs to the Hero2Hero mentoring partnership with South Hills Elementary and practical support groups like Grief Share, Divorce Care, and Financial Peace, Doxology meets families right where they are and walks alongside them through every season of life. There’s a genuine energy here, a welcoming, worry-free environment for kids and a real sense that this congregation is partnering with what God is already doing throughout Fort Worth and beyond. For the right family pastor, this is a chance to shepherd a growing, mission-minded church that is actively shaping the next generation and making a tangible difference in its community.

Position Description

Doxology is looking for a Family Pastor to lead our student ministry (youth and college) and kids ministry teams into their next chapter of growth. This is more than a ministry management role; it’s a seat at the table where our church’s vision comes to life, with a unique opportunity to build something that will outlast a single generation: a church-wide culture where parents are equipped and empowered as the primary disciple-makers of their own children.

If you’re a strategic thinker with a shepherd’s heart, someone who can cast vision for an organization while still remembering every volunteer’s name, we want to talk to you.

As Family Pastor, you’ll provide directional oversight for both our student and kids ministries, ensuring they operate with excellence, alignment, and heart. You’ll sit on our executive leadership team, helping shape churchwide strategy rather than just executing it. And you’ll take point on one of our highest-value initiatives: building a cohesive, relationally credible parent ministry that helps moms and dads disciple their kids at home, not just drop them off on Sunday.

You’ll inherit ministries that are already healthy. Your challenge is to take strong teams and make them stronger: sharper in strategy, deeper in leadership bench, and wider in evangelistic reach.

Key Responsibilities:

By defining responsibilities its best to describe what success would like like in 24 months:

Leadership & Culture:

  • Earn a genuine seat at the senior leadership table, building trust and credibility with staff and volunteers across the church.
  • Lead as a coach and shepherd to the teams you oversee. Be a leader people want to follow, not just report to.
  • Champion a collaborative, team-based approach that keeps student and kids ministries connected to the rest of the church rather than operating in silos.
  • Develop other leaders at multiple levels, and coach them to multiply their own impact through the leaders they raise up.
  • Resource and support collaborative efforts across student and kids teams in our multi-congregation model.

Ministry Growth & Alignment:

  • Bring fresh strategic thinking to already-strong ministries, elevating them to the next level of effectiveness.
  • Build and execute an evangelistic strategy that grows the number of students and families actively engaged in ministry.
  • Keep student and kids ministries closely aligned with the broader vision and direction of the church.
  • Hold the tension between evangelism and discipleship by reaching new people without losing depth.
  • Lead a strong strategic planning process, with the systems in place to actually deliver on it.

Family & Parent Ministry:

  • Build a genuine, relationally credible ministry to parents. Create one that earns their trust and equips them to disciple their own kids.
  • Develop the next generation of communicators to teach and preach in student and kids environments, modeling great teaching yourself along the way.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A leader who is equal parts strategist and shepherd.
  • Someone who thinks in systems and vision, but leads with genuine care for staff, parents, and volunteers.
  • Someone who has led ministry teams before, who knows how to develop leaders (not just manage programs), and who is energized by the specific challenge of helping parents own their role as primary disciple-makers.
