Key Responsibilities
Biblical Preaching and Teaching:
- Regularly (~80% of Sundays) preach and teach the Word of God with clarity, faithfulness, and practical application.
- Ensure teaching is gospel-centered and rooted in the authority of Scripture.
- Lead or participate in small group, Bible study, or discipleship settings as needed.
- Equip others in the church to grow in their understanding and teaching of Scripture.
Elder Leadership and Governance:
- Serve as the first among equals with the other elders, keeping our vision and mission continually in view.
- Serving as a recognized elder, sharing spiritual oversight and responsibility for leading the church.
- Works collaboratively with fellow elders.
- Participate in prayerful decision-making, direction-setting, and doctrinal accountability.
- Model biblical eldership through humility, integrity, and servant leadership.
Shepherding and Pastoral Care:
- Provide personal, relational shepherding to members of the congregation.
- Be accessible and present in the life of the church community.
- Offer biblical counsel, encouragement, and support in times of need.
- Lead or coordinate care for members during crises, illness, or major life events.
Disciple-Making and Spiritual Formation:
- Foster a culture of intentional disciple-making within the church.
- Personally invest in the spiritual growth of individuals and emerging leaders.
- Help establish simple, reproducible pathways for discipleship.
- Encourage practices that promote spiritual maturity (prayer, Scripture, fellowship, service).
Missional Leadership and Community Engagement:
- Lead the church to live missionally within its local context.
- Encourage and model personal evangelism and outreach.
- Help the congregation identify practical ways to serve and engage the community.
- Build relationships that open doors for gospel witness.
Leadership Development and Ministry Participation:
- Identify and develop lay leaders within the church.
- Equip members to use their spiritual gifts in service and ministry.
- Encourage shared ownership of the church’s mission rather than staff-driven ministry.
Organizational Oversight:
- Provide day-to-day oversight of church life in collaboration with elders and key leaders.
- Supervise all church staff, providing them guidance, evaluation and accountability.
- Propose an annual budget and participate in refining it until final approval.
- Responsible to the Elders for planning, communication, and coordination of strategies/programs that will accomplish the church’s ministry plan/vision.
- Promote and exercise wise and faithful stewardship of resources, including day-to-day decisions about making budgeted expenditures.
Key Qualifications
- Preferred to have 5 years of ministry experience
