Mission, Vision, and Values
Mission:
Calvary’s mission is rooted directly in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, which the church identifies as the biblical foundation for its purpose.
- Great Commandment: Love God fully and love your neighbor as yourself.
- Great Commission: Make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them to obey Christ.
In practice, this means Calvary seeks to:
- Proclaim the gospel
- Make disciples
- Equip believers
- Serve the community
- Live out Christlike love
This aligns with the church’s broader Southern Baptist identity and the SBC’s missional vision to present the gospel to every person and make disciples globally.
Vision:
- A church “contemporary in approach but true to the Gospel message and God’s Word.”
- A congregation committed to reaching the community for Christ and building on a long history of gospel-centered ministry.
- In short, Calvary’s vision is to be a gospel-rooted, community-engaged, disciple-making church that faithfully serves Las Cruces and beyond.
