Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership:
- Oversee and lead all aspects of the worship ministry at Southpointe Church.
- Lead worship regularly during Sunday services with excellence, authenticity, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
- Serve as the service coordinator, ensuring flow, transitions, and creative elements align with the message and vision.
- Stay current with modern worship trends and thoughtfully integrate new songs and styles that fit Southpointe’s culture.
- Cultivate worship experiences that foster both encounter and transformation—not just performance.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and pastor volunteer musicians, vocalists, and production team members.
- Develop leaders and build a culture of excellence and discipleship within the worship and creative teams.
- Provide ongoing coaching and spiritual encouragement to the team, creating a family environment marked by trust and growth.
Creative & Production Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of the production ministry, including sound, lighting, visuals, and livestream.
- Partner with staff and volunteers to design creative elements for sermon series, holidays, and special events.
- Manage the worship and production budget (approx. $24,000 annually).
- Ensure high-quality in-person and online worship experiences that reflect Southpointe’s DNA of authenticity and presence.
Collaboration & Church Integration:
- Partner closely with Pastors Scott and Ginny Morris to shape worship vision and spiritual culture.
- Collaborate with other ministry leaders (students, kids, college) to align worship and creative efforts across the church.
- Support and occasionally teach or lead in broader church ministry events (retreats, small groups, prayer nights, etc.).
- Engage in the life of the church beyond Sunday mornings—modeling community, discipleship, and service.
Pastoral & Ministerial Engagement:
- Provide pastoral care to team members and congregants as needed.
- Participate in church wide events, conferences, retreats, and outreach opportunities.
- Perform weddings, funerals, baptisms, and communion as needed.
- Help nurture Southpointe’s Spirit-filled, family-oriented culture by being both a shepherd and a servant leader.
Key Qualifications
- A passionate, growing relationship with Jesus
- Spirit-filled, with a heart for authentic worship and prophetic sensitivity
- Skilled vocalist and instrumentalist capable of leading a full band
- Proven experience leading worship, recruiting volunteers, and mentoring teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficient with Planning Center, MultiTracks, and modern worship tools
- Teachable, relational, and committed to long-term ministry fit
- Comfortable in a charismatic environment and supportive of women in leadership
