
Qualifications
- Must have an upright character and thriving relationship with Jesus.
- Member (or willing to be a member) of City on a Hill Church.
- Must be able to sing lead and harmony parts with a strong preference toward singing while playing guitar or keys.
- Must be able to make musical arrangements and lead a band through rehearsal with a vision for what the songs should sound like.
- Commitment to vision of City on a Hill and full agreement with statement of faith and theological distinctives.
- Demonstrate the character of a deacon(ness) as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-12.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly Sunday worship gathering and Thursday rehearsal.
- Work with lead pastor to shape the order of service with songs, prayers, and readings.
- Audition, coach, and support worship band members and service leaders.
- Create and maintain the schedule of musicians and liturgists via Planning Center (PCO).
- Develop and provide necessary arrangements and chord sheets for band members via PCO.
- Oversee production, working with volunteers to ensure appropriate AV implementation.
- Organize music for all CoaH Somerville events (i.e. – member meetings, worship nights, prayer meetings, Kids’ Summer Adventure, etc)
- Work alongside lead pastor to create and oversee holistic plan for spiritual formation for congregation through community groups, resources, seminars, and classes.
- Support volunteer leaders for kids, first impressions, and outreach ministries.
- Meet with congregants regularly to offer spiritual direction and discipleship.
- Regularly meet with the lead pastor for coaching and supervision
- Work from the church office 2-3 days/week
- General HR, finance, and administrative functions to carry out responsibilities and lead teams
