Lifepointe Church began in the fall of 2004 as a church plant in a local middle school, led by founding pastor Matt McGue. Pastor McGue envisioned a church where people in the Charlotte metro area could experience the love of Jesus and find full life in Him. With an emphasis on authenticity and a “come as you are” atmosphere, Lifepointe quickly became a welcoming home for families. The church launched with just three staff members, but on its first Sunday, over 200 people attended, and Lifepointe continued to grow. As the congregation expanded, Lifepointe established a second campus in Fort Mill, SC, just five miles from the original site. To better serve the community, they purchased a facility that had been the training center for the Charlotte Bobcats, transforming it into both a church and a community hub. However, during the economic downturn of 2008, Lifepointe encountered financial hardship, leading to the closure of the original campus and consolidation at the Fort Mill location. In light of continuing challenges, the church later made the difficult decision to sell the facility and began the search for land to establish a permanent home. In this period of transition, Pastor McGue felt called to plant a new church in Jackson, MS, and passed the leadership baton to Nate Siemon, who was serving as the Fort Mill Campus Pastor. Under Pastor Nate’s leadership, Lifepointe maintained its core mission of helping people experience full life in Jesus while refining its vision to focus more intentionally on reaching and impacting the surrounding community. In 2018, Lifepointe built and opened its first custom-designed facility just a few miles from the previous site. Over the past six years, Lifepointe has experienced steady growth and transformation. Hundreds have found salvation, lives have been restored, addictions broken, and families have found hope and healing within the church community. Lifepointe remains passionate about family ministry, firmly believing that children and students are not just the future of the church but an integral part of its present. Investing in the next generation is central to Lifepointe’s mission, supporting a vibrant ministry for kids and students that helps them develop a strong faith foundation. Today, Lifepointe is a thriving and growing church in the heart of Fort Mill, serving a diverse community that extends across the Charlotte metro area. Every aspect of the church is dedicated to “people helping people experience full life in Jesus,” making Lifepointe a welcoming and transformative space.
