I get giddy when I get to work with a church I’ve partnered with before—like my friends at Colorado Community Church. In 2018, they were one of my first partnerships with Slingshot, and now I get to help them replace the fantastic Youth Pastor we placed back then (he’s heading back to Arkansas to take on a Lead Pastor role). The new hire will inherit a healthy ministry and have the chance to make some tweaks and changes for the next season of youth ministry. Plus, the job is in beautiful Colorado—what more could you want?
Colorado Community Church, founded in 1993, is an intentionally multigenerational, multicultural, and interdenominational church. They believe the body is strongest when each part shares its gifts. In December 2019, CCC moved into a renovated facility in Aurora, previously a Gander Mountain retail location. This space includes a 1,650-seat Worship Center, a 250-seat Chapel, and dedicated Youth and Children’s Ministry areas. The church averages over 2,500 in-person attendees on weekends and about 3,000 with online participation. Known for community service, CCC also runs the More Life Community Center across the street, housing multiple ministries to assist those in need. The church is excited about the future of their youth ministry. Their outgoing Youth Pastor is returning to Arkansas to become a Lead Pastor, presenting a career opportunity for him and new growth for the Youth Ministry in reaching the unchurched and growing disciples.
The Youth Pastor will oversee the entire Youth Ministry department (two other staff members) at this growing church of 2500. The youth ministry currently has programming for the weekend services, and Sunday night (high school) and Wednesday evening (middle school). The church is VERY community minded and is diverse in all settings.
