Position Description

The VP of HR directs the corporate human resources function and, in this capacity, serves as Chief Human Resources Officer on matters concerning human resource management. Provides technical advice, assistance, and knowledge to management in developing, communicating, and implementing Homewood’s personnel policies, practices, wage, and benefits programs.

He/She is responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide Homewood with the best people talent available and to position Homewood as the Employer of Choice by being aware of policies, practices and trends within the healthcare industry and industry in general.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and administrating personnel policies and practices and the Human Resources program.
  • Continues to improve the programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with meeting Homewood’s strategic and operational people issues.
  • Identifies, monitors, and enforces legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions.
  • Responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives, and rewards for effective performance.
  • Responsible for overseeing talent acquisition in providing recruitment, sourcing, and onboarding strategies.
  • Responsible for overseeing and implementing the worker’s compensation and safety/wellness program.
  • Establishes and standardizes educational and training programs and resources in management development to ensure the desired goals for Homewood’s mission and culture are met.
  • Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of all Human Resource programs and making recommendations for changes.
  • Evaluates and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact co-workers’ attraction, motivation, development, and retention.
