Glasgow Evangelical Church is a beautiful picture of intergenerational, small town ministry with some of the warmest, friendliest, down to earth people you’ll ever meet. The town is the kind of place where drivers wave, people stop to chat in the grocery store, and might even just stop over for a visit on a random Thursday – the heart of that culture permeates the church as well. GEC is reaching their town and the surrounding area with the Gospel, and fully supporting the kids and young families that continue to make this their church home.
Glasgow Evangelical Church (GEC) was started 67 year ago with a desire to see families come together as a church body and light for the community. In those 67 years, they have only had a total of four pastors because, not only are they committed to the community, but also to the encouragement of their pastors. Their current building was solely church-funded without any loans and built by our church family. It is seen as an asset to the local community as a facility available for their use as well.
GEC is currently a vibrant, growing, multi-generational church. They desire to be real with one another about their struggles while remaining rooted in the life-changing power of the Gospel through the Holy Spirit and God’s Word. This requires them to be intentionally relational with God and one another, and is what motivates their commitment to continue reaching out to as many people as possible with the Good News of Jesus. Glasgow, MT may be a small town, but it is still full of people (with new folks moving in all the time) who need to know Jesus. God has always been faithful with His resources to equip them for this mission, and they can’t wait to see what He will do next.
The Children’s Director at GEC will have access to incredible facilities to run a dynamic children’s ministry, incredible people with a heart to serve, and a great opportunity to disciple kids and families in this small, family-focused town. The role will not only focus on building a thriving kids ministry, but will also have the opportunity to really pour into families and come alongside parents as the primary disciplers of their kids.
