It is truly a place where legacy & opportunity connect! I can get very excited to be at a place with a history as rich as the First Presbyterian Church of Houston, but legacy alone would not drive my enthusiasm. The anticipation of expectation for something new to happen is what would get my blood flowing!
It’s a new day at FPC Houston. A new lead pastor, renewed hope, the long-standing reputation of being a church committed to the next-gen, and the opportunity to lead a team of Associate Directors is why YOU should consider being the next Student Pastor/Director at First Presbyterian!
Established in 1839, the First Presbyterian Church of Houston (FPC) has been instrumental in shaping the spiritual landscape of Houston and Texas. As Houston became a global city, FPC actively sent church planters across the region, prioritizing spiritual growth, evangelism, discipleship, and missions.
FPC aims for Spirit-led worship, offering transformative experiences that resonate with members and welcome new worshippers. The church, led by Senior Pastor Curtis Broznan since 2023, is poised for growth, planning to fill key staff positions in 2024 to enhance its dynamic momentum.
With a commitment to practical teachings and life transformation, FPC provides growth opportunities through diverse programs, small groups, mentoring, and special events. As more individuals and families explore the vibrant happenings at First Presbyterian, the excitement continues to build for the future.
In many ways, this is a leader-of-leaders role; however, it should be stated that whoever is in this role should be passionate about teens! This new leader will oversee a team (currently five direct reports) and help reshape the future of the Youth Ministry at FPC. Currently, the program has Sunday morning gatherings for both Middle School and High School. Sunday evening youth group for MS and Wednesday night small group ministry of HS. The church also has a long history of great retreats, camps, and missions for students as well.
