Salt Lake City, Utah

Why I Love This Opportunity

Randy Isola

Associate

I love this church, team, and city! Salt Lake City is an amazing place and the team that the next Student Pastor will get to work with is incredible. This is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity.

About This Organization

Capital is a 25-year-old, multi-site church with two campuses about 15 minutes apart. The original campus is in Salt Lake City, UT, and the second is in Park City, UT. Led by Pastor Troy Champ, who has been part of the church since its inception and the lead pastor since 2004, Capital has an amazing staff culture that prioritizes personal spiritual discipleship over producing on the job.

Position Description

One of the highest priorities of this role is to recruit, develop and lead a full, effective volunteer team for the Student ministry at both campuses.
The Student’s Pastor must have the communication skills necessary to stand in front
of the church and volunteers to cast vision, recruit and inspire in meaningful, engaging ways. Of course, this person will also need to teach Scriptural truth to Students in fun and developmentally appropriate ways.
The Student’s Pastor will need to resource parents to support them as they disciple their teens by teaching and modeling faith in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Christ-Centered Discipleship – The most important thing about you is your discipleship to Jesus. Period.
  • Develop and implement a plan for Capital student’s ministry services, groups, and integration into the broader church.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Previous pastoral leadership experience with ministry oversight in Student’s Ministry.
  • Highly relational with excellent people skills, orientation, passion for serving and empowering others, and building strong teams.
  • Self-starter and disciplined to work with significant autonomy.
  • Adaptable to changes in the organization as well as responsibilities.
  • Strategic Planning – Leading requires a never-ceasing focus on the big picture of our vision.
  • People Prioritization – Great systems serve people, but people always matter more than policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a plan for ongoing parent discipleship, equipping, and encouragement.
