St. Andrew Baptist Church

Student Pastor

Panama City,
Florida
St. Andrew Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida, is searching for a full-time Student Pastor to lead a thriving student ministry that is spiritually energized and ready for its next chapter. The role carries significant responsibility and real opportunity: weekly programming drawing 40-50 students, a committed volunteer team, active missions engagement, and a congregation that genuinely wants to see student ministry flourish. The Student Pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor and serve as a meaningful voice in the church’s broader vision for discipleship, evangelism, and generational investment. This is a chance to step into a healthy, forward-moving church and build something that could shape a generation.

Why We Love This Opportunity

Panama City is more than a postcard. It’s a fast-growing coastal community with military families, longtime locals, and new residents, all looking for a church that takes faith seriously and does so well. What excites me most about this opportunity is that St. Andrew has already done the hard work of building a healthy culture: great worship, a unified staff, a beautiful new Worship Center, and a congregation with real momentum. The student ministry has a strong volunteer base and genuine support from leadership. Whoever steps into this role is walking into a situation where the infrastructure is in place, and the invitation is wide open to come in and build something great.

A great match for this position would be:

  • Someone with a clear, specific calling to student ministry, not just youth work in general, but a conviction that the local church is where God is asking them to invest long-term.
  • A natural leader who can cast vision, bring people along, and make meaningful change without leaving others in the wake. Someone wired to lead people well, not just manage a program.
  • Deeply relational with a high-touch heart who genuinely cares about individual students, including those far from faith, and feels the tension between personal connection and the scalability that ministry growth requires.
  • Spiritually grounded and emotionally mature. Leads from a place of security, communicates with warmth and clarity, and handles conflict with grace.
  • An equipper who multiplies impact by investing in volunteers, student leaders, and parents rather than trying to do everything alone, building systems that allow others to thrive.
  • A gifted communicator who can connect with both churched and unchurched students through weekly teaching and who has the potential to grow into opportunities on the church’s broader preaching team.

About This Organization

St. Andrew Baptist Church is a vibrant, multi-generational congregation of about 500 that has weathered significant challenges with remarkable resilience. After Hurricane Michael damaged much of the campus in 2018, they’ve emerged stronger and more unified than ever, recently completing their beautiful new Worship Center that signals both the end of a rebuilding season and the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Located in Panama City, Florida, the church draws people from diverse backgrounds, including military families from nearby Tyndall Air Force Base, long-time locals, and new residents. They’re known in their community for The Center of Hope (a free medical clinic, food and clothing ministry, and pregnancy care center), their strong missions commitment, and for growth. People often say, “We hear God is really working at St. Andrew.”

What makes the church unique is its equal commitment to worship and small group participation, a genuine culture of service, and volunteers who love being part of what God is doing there. They blend Southern Baptist roots with a forward-looking, Spirit-led vision, and are deeply committed to biblical preaching, healthy church culture, intentional discipleship, and meaningful outreach. With momentum building, new families attending, and increasing numbers of baptisms, they believe God is positioning them for significant kingdom impact in the years ahead.

Location

“I’ve lived in four different states, and the people here are the friendliest I’ve known. Panama City offers the charm of coastal life with the warmth of a tight-knit community. With military families, long-time locals, and new residents all calling it home, it’s a place where ministry and relationships flourish.”
