In March of 2009, a team of six families met together with a dream to plan an Easter service. Each team member invited friends and family who did not have a church home to attend. Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, was memorable as 65 people packed into a room to hear the Gospel. The response was so great that they decided to meet several times a month throughout the year.

Momentum was building, and on January 3, 2010, Christ Community Church (C3) was born. It met weekly at Mountain Top Coffeehouse on Main Street in Churubusco. On Sunday, August 15, 2010, C3 moved from Mountain Top to a storefront in Turtle Town Plaza. The larger space allowed for growth and more ministries to reach the community.

On October 11, 2015, a growing Christ Community Church became a mobile church and started meeting in the Churubusco High School Auditorium. In March of 2020, COVID abruptly ended their ability to meet at the High School. Even though this may have thrown the church for a loop, this did not take God by surprise! Little did they know that In 2018, when C3 was given a church building (known as “The Center”), God had bigger plans for this building than the weekday activities they were using it for.

As soon as COVID restrictions were lifted (in May 2020), the church was able to meet in person again. The Center became the home of C3 and all of its various ministries! Although they are still currently meeting at the Center, they are in the early stages of the building process. C3 has completed the preliminary design and begun the capital campaign (with a substantial amount of savings already designated towards the building).

As soon as C3 raises enough capital, the church plans to start constructing the “Rescue Station,” its new church facility that will house its ministries for generations to come!
