Irving Bible Church (IBC) has always been ahead of its time, pioneering in areas such as cross-cultural awareness, women in leadership, technology, and innovative worship styles. Position Description

The Women’s Ministry at Irving Bible Church is a vital and thriving part of the community, with over 400 women currently engaged in ministry. The Women’s Pastor will step into this dynamic ministry and have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, new perspectives, and further expand the impact. The role involves overseeing women’s ministry strategy, leading Bible studies, shepherding and mentoring women, and mobilizing them into outreach opportunities in the community.

The Women’s Pastor will be part of a collaborative team that includes pastoral staff and volunteers, and will work closely with the Women’s Lead Team to ensure the growth, spiritual development, and well-being of the women of IBC.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral leadership, shepherding, and counseling to the women of IBC, offering biblical guidance and support.
  • Study the Scriptures and teach the Bible with passion, clarity, and depth.
  • Serve as a champion for the women’s ministry, advocating for the needs and spiritual growth of women within the church.
  • Lead, develop, and equip a dedicated staff and volunteer team.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of spring, summer, and fall Bible studies, including setting the teaching calendar and selecting curriculum.
  • Lead the Women’s Lead Team, ensuring alignment with the church’s broader vision and goals.
  • Create and manage the women’s ministry budget, ministry plan, and communication strategies.
  • Serve as emcee and pastoral representative at women’s events, fostering a welcoming and spiritually enriching environment.
  • Coordinate speaker selection and event logistics in collaboration with the team to ensure impactful events that speak to the needs of women.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where all women—regardless of age, ethnicity, or life stage—feel valued and part of the IBC community.

 

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • A college degree (seminary training preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in church or para-church ministry, with a strong focus on women’s ministry.
  • A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, with a heart for ministry and service to women.
  • A passion for empowering women to grow spiritually, serve others, and engage in community outreach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard ministry tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to cast vision, lead change, and navigate challenges with grace.
  • A proven ability to motivate and lead a team, developing leaders and volunteers.
  • Comfort and confidence in teaching and speaking in front of audiences.
  • A team player who is dependable, cheerful, and self-motivated.
  • Absolute confidentiality and trustworthiness.
