Young Adult Minister
West Monroe, Louisiana
Why We Love This Opportunity
There is a large university located in close proximity to the church that provides an incredible opportunity to reach and disciple college students. Additionally, there is a strong core of young adults who are hungry to know God’s word and be shepherded through this season of their lives. Many graduated from the Christian school on the church’s campus and have a great desire to make an impact on their college campus.
About This Organization
Family Church is a dynamic community of believers that embraces its mission and vision to “Pursue God, Make Disciples, and Strengthen Families.” They believe that a vibrant, Holy Spirit-led relationship with Jesus Christ develops as a person pursues God. As this happens, they aspire to lead people toward Biblical maturity and becoming fully-devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. Family Church also believes that average marriages can become extraordinary marriages, casual parenting can become intentional parenting, and lack of personal growth can become exponential growth. They understand that the Bible speaks clearly of how to be strengthened in these areas, and they want each person who attends Family Church to be all that God has called them to be!
Family Church is a place of solid Biblical teaching where relationships and young families are valued highly. They are devoted to providing resources that help parents raise godly children. In keeping with this, the church founded a Christian school in 1982 and, today, the school enrolls over 525 infants through high school students each year.
Family Church is searching for a young adult minister who understands the unique ministry needs of their students: most of them have graduated from Claiborne Christian School (located on the church’s campus). This means that they are not necessarily in need of evangelism as much as they are in need of finding purpose in their new season of life as a college student or emerging young professionals.
The Young Adult Minister must be passionate about life on life discipleship, team building, and have the vision to create a regular, corporate worship experience that targets young adults. He or she must also have a long-term vision for modeling and encouraging involvement and love for the local church and value the family ministry approach which drives much of the culture of Family Church. The future Young Adult Minister of Family Church must have experience in communicating the word of God to young adults, be innovative to Christ-centered ways of evangelizing this age demographic, and possess collaborative skills that can serve well in establishing a presence on college campuses.
