Why I Love This Opportunity

David Santistevan

Senior Associate

Doing ministry with friends is one of the great joys of living for Jesus. A relational atmosphere, shared vision, meaningful work, and the pursuit of Jesus are a few of the things that define the culture at Fellowship Church. We’re excited to partner with this great New England Church in finding their next worship pastor. This is a great team with potential to step into its most effective, fruitful season of ministry yet.

About This Organization

Fellowship Church is a healthy, close-knit, outreach-minded church in the beautiful New England city of Middletown. Founded in 1977, the church has had only two lead pastors. The current Pastor, Andy Eiss, is the son of the founding pastor and has been on staff for over 30 years (13 as lead pastor). Andy is a relational, down to earth leader with a gift for teaching God’s Word.

The mission is simple, uncomplicated, and at the center of everything Fellowship Church does: to help people find and follow Jesus. This is evident in its thriving small group focus. 50% of the church is involved in a small group. The campus at Fellowship Church has recently been renovated to have more of a comfortable, “campus” feel that is perfect for connection and ministry. There’s an “invite” culture at Fellowship Church with a focus on the “empty chair” – creating space for those who are not here yet. The church exists to help people encounter Jesus, encourage each other to be more like him, and engage with him in everyday life.

Position Description

The new Worship Pastor at Fellowship Church will oversee the worship and production teams. This last year during the pandemic the team launched an online venue that has seen growth throughout the year. The worship style is modern, vibrant, and engaging. Worship is a huge focus for Fellowship Church – crafting experiences that help people sing and connect with God. Priorities for this new leader include:

  • Leading engaging worship
  • Fostering a culture of good communication
  • Creating systems and structure
  • Casting vision for a new worship culture
  • Developing young musicians and worship leaders
  • Oversight of both the online and in-person experience
  • Giving direction to the band/singers

This is a great opportunity for a passionate, entrepreneurial leader to step in, build, and create momentum. The worship ministry is the largest serve team at Fellowship Church, with over 40 volunteers. The team is made of talented musicians and worship leaders who are eager to begin partnering with a new leader. In many ways, the ministry is a clean slate for rebuilding and new growth, following the pandemic.
